I am thrilled to announce that reservations are now open for my brand new home restaurant supper club pop-up, Dinner Down The Lane, on Oxford Hill in Witney, in the heart of Oxfordshire. The inaugural event will take place on Saturday 23rd June with further bookings being taken for Saturday 21st July and Saturday 25th August.
I’ve always loved cooking for family and friends. My passion is finding unusual ingredients, experimenting with new recipes and throwing our doors open to people. I’ve always dreamed of turning this interest into a more entrepreneurial endeavour. Following two truly inspirational experiences: an evening at The Secret Supper Society and then a day at Raymond Blanc’s Cookery School at Le Manoir au Quat’Saisons (see my blog post about this here), I’ve had the little push I needed to get this off the ground.
So, I’m delighted to be opening Dinner Down the Lane, this new supper club, and whipping up some fabulous food for hopefully slightly more discerning diners than my children! And believe it or not, my lovely husband, Ben, has not only agreed to this crazy adventure but will be the host with the most and the waiter who can cater for a wonderful evening for our guests.
What to expect at this brand new supper club? An evening at Dinner Down the Lane is the opportunity to sample good food with your friends and family, at your own table, without the formality of a restaurant. The meal will incorporate a range of dishes and ingredients from my wide experience of cooking cuisines from around the world. Anticipate 5 courses, including a bonus pudding course (there are never enough puddings in life) and a sprinkling of unusual ingredients (don’t worry, they won’t be offal!). And the great news is, I don’t have an alcohol licence so you can bring your favourite booze and not be paying an arm and a leg for it!
So if you’re looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion, to give an out of the ordinary treat to a loved one or just to enjoy an alternative night out then a supper club might be just the ticket.
